Paia’s Hookipa Beach Park is hosting a stop on the Pro Windsurfing tour this week. The Jeep Hawaii Pro started today with the events trials. With strong trade winds predicted for most of the week, conditions should be good as the world’s best are here on Maui to tackle one of the best windsurfing breaks in the world. Prize money for the men’s and women’s event will total $30,000. Billy and I hope to make it out to Ho’okipa at some point this week to get some pictures and root on friends who are competing.
