This weekend is a great weekend for local cultures and music at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Tomorrow night, Japanese culture will be on display with the Taiko Drumming festival. The festival features traditional and contemporary Japanese and Okinawan dancing and drumming. This popular event features some of the best Taiko performers from North America. The event starts at the Castle Theater at 7:00PM.
Sunday afternoon the MACC is hosting their annual slack key festival. This a great event for the whole family with some of Hawaii’s best Slack Key performers taking stage outside at the A and B amphitheater. Bring a blanket, some sun screen and the kids and listen to this distinctly Hawaiian Music. Best thing is that this event is free.
