There are two events being hosted this weekend where proceeds will benefit the Paia Youth and Cultural Center. The Wings Hawaii Girls are having their second anniversary party tonight at Voyage East in the Pauwela Cannery in Haiku. The event starts at seven with pupus from the Market Fresh Bistro. The girls will be hosting a fashion show at 8:00 featuring their spring collection of clothing and jewlery. The fashion show will be followed by a performance by Paula Fuga. Tickets are $45 at the door.
Saturday evening, the the Studio Maui will be hosting its Spring Awakening Benefit. This Five Rhythms event will feature teacher Kabba Anand and famed master percussionist and African Djembe Player Sanga of the Valley. Sanga has performed with the notable musicians like Carlos Santana, Baba Olatunji and the Grateful Dead. This event runs from 6:00-8:00. Tickets are $100. Proceeds from the event will go PYCC, Women Helping Women and the Studio Maui.
