Want to Whale Watch from Home?

Topics

It has been a few weeks now since the first humpback whale of the season was spotted along the coast of Maui. Within another month or so, whale season will be in full swing. Whale watch tours embark from Ma’alaea and Lahaina in South and West Maui respectively. The North Shore area is less renowned for whale watching. That is more a byproduct of the winter surf conditions than an absence of whales. I would anticipate a lot of green passengers during a north shore whale watch. That being said, they would see a lot of whales. I have seen whales breaching, slapping their tails or gently rolling along the surface from vantages throughout Paia and Haiku. One of the best whale watching experiences was at our beautiful listing the Pali Makai Estate.

Set a stone throw from the cliff’s edge, this home has enormous ocean views. The bay below is a popular spot for whale calves. I watched a baby humpback breach over a dozen times in this bay while Mom splashed her tail along the baby’s side. That is but one of many “shows” the whales have put on for me while visiting the Pali Makai. When sitting in the living room, you can literally see nothing but ocean and sky out the north side of the room. Sometimes, you get the sense of being more on a ship than a home. That being said, this home is built more solidly than the hardiest of ocean going vessels. It features the highest quality materials and superior finishing. The end result is a home that is both beautiful and low in maintenance. This is a great opportunity to take in natures wonders from home whether it is a whale breaching, sunrise or sunset, giant winter surf or countless rainbows. Contact us today for more information on this one of a kind property. If you act now, you could be watching whales from your back yard during peak whale season!
