Kapalua offers upscale living
Kapalua is the quietest of Maui’s three resort communities. It is a little more secluded, over an hour’s drive from Kahului Airport. The weather is a little cooler than at the other resorts, and it experiences more rain due to its windward location. A testament to this beautiful stretch of sand. Oneloa Bay offers less crowded conditions and winter surf and bodyboarding. DT Fleming Beach is another Best Beach winner. Slaughterhouse Beach, named after the slaughterhouse that used to be located above the beach, is far prettier than the name implies. Honolua Bay offers fantastic summertime snorkeling and world-class waves during winter surf season.
Kapalua offers outdoor adventures
Kapalua beckons you to play outside. The resort is home to two championship golf courses, the Plantation Course and the Bay Course, both offering stunning views and excellent play. For hiking enthusiasts, the Kapalua Coastal Trail provides a gentle coastline walk, while the Mahana Ridge Trail offers a strenuous hike up into the forest above Kapalua. Mountain bikers will enjoy over 12 miles of single track in the Kapalua Recreation Area.
